Abstract

This paper analyzes the current refugee crisis in Europe through the lens of regime complex and not under the more traditional view of international regimes. The text seeks to study the conditions of access to international protection in the integrated space of the European Union under the European asylum policy, and to compare these conditions with the provisions of the international regime on the protection of refugees and asylum governed by the Geneva Convention of 1951 and 1967 Protocol. Focused on the recent agreement signed between the EU and Turkey March 2016, the impact of the agreement on the migration regime complex will be discussed, particularly the consequences of the increasing securitization of the Common European Asylum System in the economic migration regime
